Linux Systems Engineer - Low Latency - HFT - Sydney

Our client is a top Trading firm with established offices in most of the top financial hubs in the world. In a space where micro and nano seconds count, this lot are top of their game and amongst the quickest in the market – utilising cutting-edge technology to trade faster! Due to their expansion in the APAC market, they are looking for multiple Linux Production Engineers to join the Sydney team in supporting their global high performance trading systems.

Team

Having recently opened their Sydney office, you will get to be a part of a highly collaborative and top-performing Linux team of 4 – with their core values being winning together and reaching individual’s full potential. These chaps collaborate with the global team with their “follow the sun” model. They are responsible for maintaining and administering the firm’s global infrastructure – as well as engaging with the team to find that next systems enhancement.

Role

The role itself involves working with the APAC and global team to manage and resolve technical issues with a high degree of technical complexity of their Linux-based global infrastructure. Additionally, you will also develop tools that will help in diagnosing, resolving, and triaging hard-to-get-at problems.

Requirements:

• 5+ years Linux engineering experience
• Salt, Puppet, Ansible, etc.
• Competence in Go and/or Python
• Demonstratable experience in designing, building, and maintaining complicated systems.

This role would be suited for people coming from a pure Linux administration or engineering background.
