RBS Consumer Finance - Line 1 Risk Manager

The Opportunity

A chance to step into a Manager role (on a 12 month secondment) in one of CBA's most dynamic product domains supporting millions of CBA customers with their spending and lending needs - from credit cards and BNPL to personal loans, car financing and energy upgrades.

You will partner with our Consumer Finance (CF) Crews through an incredibly exciting time as we continue to innovate, lead simplification and modernisation initiatives, leverage AI and deliver strategies to make our customer outcomes simpler, safer and better while protecting them and the Group from fraud and scams. You'll partner directly with the Crew Lead and their leadership team, shape live decisions, provide critical risk advice and assessments, and see your work land in the customer experience quickly.

What you'll do

• Act as the trusted Line 1 Risk partner to the aligned Consumer Finance Crew, providing forward looking advice on non-financial risk, product risk, policy and process change.
• Identify, triage and help solve customer breakpoints and control gaps
• Provide pragmatic guidance to support the safe delivery of a number of core groupwide change initiatives and modernisation programs
• Help lead the operational risk rhythm for the Crew (RCSAs, incidents, issues, controls, obligations), keeping it sharp, current and decision useful.
• Bring customer outcomes, responsible lending and DDO thinking into design conversations early, not after the fact.
• Represent the Crew's risk profile into the CF Non-Financial Risk Sub-Committee and other senior forums.
• Coach and challenge across the Crew to lift risk capability and ownership.

What you'll bring

• Strong judgement and a curious mindset. Comfortable holding a view and changing it when the evidence shifts.
• Experience in risk management or product - Line 1 or Line 2 Risk, Credit, Product, or Operations with an adaptable and learning mindset.
• Confidence working with a diverse stakeholder group and a knack for translating risk into plain language and practical action.
• Energy for a fast paced Crew environment and the appetite to learn the underwriting end of the business.
