Cloud Engineer

Main Purpose:
As a Cloud Engineer you will build the applications and databases that perform on the AWS cloud for Trafigura Denmark, supervise cloud management and data storage services and configure cloud infrastructure components like networking and security services.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science or SW/IT engineering
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Energy industry experience is plus but not required
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments
• Knowledge and experience of deploying cloud design principles and patterns in real cloud environments is required
• Advanced knowledge of DevOps tools is required
• Hands on experience with software development and scripting languages

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Service Design and implementation

• Design and implement services on the selected AWS cloud instance.
• Design of new services will require some collaboration with other colleagues in Trafigura
• Capturing cloud service requirements and convert them to designs
• Configuration and managing of databases
• Data pipelines and data integrations for streaming analytics

DevOps tools

• Configure and run the AWS DevOps tool chain for Trafigura Denmark
• Leverage on AWS DevOps environments developed by colleagues in other Trafigura entities and tailor this to a new AWS environment, in order to produce the most benefits and operational speed and stability for the purpose of short term power trading

The role will allow for the Cloud Engineer to design and develop Middleware components for the cloud in order to connect standard cloud applications.

The role reports directly to the Program Lead and has constant interaction with other teams like wider IT department, Traders, Global Head of Power Trading.
