About the Role

This is a Hybrid role split into new business with focus on building robust relationships with decision makers within potential Retail clients and developing and maintaining the business and relationship with existing customers. 

The goal is to sign new Retailers to use the Planet VAT refund solution for tourists and grow the existing relationships. 


This may be extended to other Planet products, such as Direct Currency Conversion (DCC), which may also be incorporated into the product offering in the future. The role holder will work closely with the Country Manager.

This sales role is undertaken by delivering a consistent high level service in line with Planet policies and procedures and in keeping with the Company’s Vision, Mission and Strategy.

What you will do 

  • Prospect for new business sales opportunities proactively through telephone and face to face appointments.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual new business sales targets.
  • Maximise revenue opportunities and ensure business is sufficiently profitable.
  • To manage the customer relationship.
  • React to customer / partners queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work with supporting departments to resolve to a satisfactory standard.
  • Accurately complete sales documentation which supports the sale of services that include quotations, proposals and tenders.
  • Lead on the creation and delivery of new business presentations with customers.
  • To develop and maintain a pipeline of business opportunities.
  • Make sure that the CRM system is kept updated with customer and opportunity information in line with the KPI’s set by the manager.
  • Provide information to manager and other internal individuals / departments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To work and contribute within the broader sales team, creating and promoting ideas to assist colleagues in the achievement of set objectives.
  • To work professionally, effectively and constructively to promote the company.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required by the manager and company to be in the best interest of the company and its customers.

Who you are 

  • Must have proven experience in new business sales, preferably within the Retail market, and retail operations as well as an understanding of retail technology.
  • Experience in account management and development.
  • Proven knowledge of current sales techniques and strong working knowledge of developing a sales pipeline and sales development plan.
  • Proven track record in managing and the delivery of new business targets.
  • A knowledge of the Danish Retail industry or IT solutions within Retail would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Card Acquiring, DCC, retail payment solutions or Retail EPOS systems would be an advantage.

What you will need to bring to Planet 

  • Proven interpersonal and networking skills ideally in a similar fast moving sales environment.
  • Proven communication and team working skills.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce or similar).
  • Excellent IT skills inc Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Corporate IT systems such as Outlook.
  • Graduate calibre in a sales and/or business orientated qualification.
  • Perfect in spoken and written Danish, English and preferably a working/spoken knowledge of other languages.
  • Proven organisational, planning and statistical preparation skills. Must enjoy working with statistics.
