Role Overview
Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to hire a Risk Officer to join its risk function. This role will work closely with the investment team, focusing on both investment and operational risk oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance the firm's risk management framework in line with internal policies
Conduct daily monitoring of trading activity and investment risk limits (pre- and post-trade)
Investigate and resolve risk limit breaches
Support regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., short positions and other disclosures)
Implement and review risk limits within portfolio and order management systems
Monitor risk consistency across funds and managed accounts, including metrics such as VaR
Oversee counterparty risk and contribute to internal credit risk monitoring tools
Assist with periodic and ad hoc risk reviews, including execution quality and service provider due diligence
Monitor performance and ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., GIPS)
Contribute to risk reporting and provide insights to internal committees
Support operational risk assessments and promote a strong risk culture across the firm
Requirements
2+ years of experience in asset management, investment consulting, or financial markets, with exposure to risk or analytics
Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline (or currently pursuing)
Actuarial background is a plus
Strong proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Strong numerical and analytical skills; knowledge of statistics is advantageous
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
