VTB Commodities Trading DAC, Zug plays an important role within the business model and strategy of the VTB group in respect of its Global Commodities business, which combines sales and trading in Commodity Derivatives, Commodity Financing and Physical Trading. The Financial Analyst position exists within the Finance Department. The role will involve performing many tasks and roles across many of the VTBCT Zug Finance departments, including Accounts Payable, IFRS & Group reporting, Tax, Business Area Control, Finance MI and Treasury.

The successful candidate will work with experienced team members and managers from each of the above areas, assisting in performing both regular duties as well as such one-off and project work that may arise from time to time. At the same time the candidate will be learning the roles and responsibilities of each area, and how they fit together to allow the full front to back processing, reporting and control functions required of the Finance team within the entity.

Among other duties that will arise the following are envisaged for the successful candidate:

At the same time the candidate will be learning the roles and responsibilities of each area, and how they fit together to allow the full front to back processing, reporting and control functions required of the Finance team within the entity.

Among other duties that will arise the following are envisaged for the successful candidate:

  • Participate in the production of meaningful, accurate, reliable and timely management of information reporting and analysis to feed into the consolidated reporting of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of the VTB Bank and parent bank itself.
  • Participation in ensuring the integrity of financial accounting and management information reported by VTB Commodities Trading DAC in Zug, and that information is provided on a timely basis, along with all supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of Inter-company position and ensuring invoices are correct and sent out within agreed timetable.
  • Working with the head of Tax to ensure accurate and timely reporting of VAT and CIT, in both management and statutory accounts as well as to the relevant tax authorities.
  • Working with the global AP team to ensure local invoice owners input invoices to the AP system correctly and in a timely manner, and assisting with queries locally to become local champion

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Zug head of Tax with the information gathering, review and preparation of the VAT calculations and returns.
  • Assist with IFRS Consolidation in preparation of monthly GRF and Loans RUR reporting to parent bank.
  • Consolidate and agree the monthly Inter-company position between VTBCT Zug and other overseas VTB Branches, liaise with other departments to resolve possible disputes and ensure payments made on timely basis.
  • To provide input into the statutory financial report and liaise with internal stakeholders as and when required.
  • Assist with the production of the monthly submission files to Moscow Finance.
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of the monthly Analytical Review for Zug entity to Zug CFO and Moscow IFRS.
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of the monthly Executive Update to Zug Chief Financial Officer.
  • Management of the Cost reporting, Accrual and Prepayment and maintenance of Fixed Asset Register for VTB Commodities Trading DAC entity.
  • Assist local office with AP related issues, and become primary contact for Global AP team in Zug entity
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and analysis of the financial data as and when required by management.

As well as the above, the job holder should be ready to challenge and improve on any existing process and to drive other initiatives as appropriate. Involvement in new product approvals as required by management.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel
  • Basic understanding of Physical Commodities and related hedging products would be beneficial
  • Basic understanding of accounting theory and Financial Statutory Reporting preferred
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and ensure deliverables are prioritised and delivered accordingly
  • Good attention to detail, and keen to learn and develop across the whole Finance spectrum.
