Colleagues of murdered BofA VP Erin Piacenti help raise nearly $450k for her young child
It's three days since Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old vice president in Bank of America's business selection and conflicts team was stabbed to death near Times Square. Colleagues at the bank have been promoting a GoFundMe for her family, which has already raised nearly $450k.

The New York Times reports that Piacenti had only just returned from five months' maternity leave after having a baby daughter. She was on her way back from Bank of America's nearby office when she was stabbed in the stomach by Pamela Cisneros, a woman with a history of mental health problems. Cisneros, who was subsequently shot and killed by police, reportedly stabbed Piacenti shortly after the BofA VP passed a vendor selling baseball hats and sunglasses. Piacenti tragically died in hospital.
Piacenti's GoFundMe page, states that she returned from maternity leave on August 31st. Over 4,000 people have already donated to her fund, which has a target amount of $750k to help support her daughter, Madison.
Writing on LinkedIn, Yaelle Birman, the global head of business selection and conflicts at Bank of America, said Piacenti's death in a "senseless unprovoked violent attack" had been devastating. "Our BSC team will miss you dearly Erin," said Birman. "We will remember, amongst other things, your bubbly, warm and kind personality as well as your brilliant mind. It was such a gift having you in the team."
