Evercore's London pay shot up. But only for a select group

Boutique investment banks like Evercore are well known for their compensation. But average compensation of $1m or however much includes wide swaths of high-earners and low-earners (relatively low, at least). Full-year 2025 accounts published today for Evercore’s London-based subsidiaries – namely, Evercore Partners International LLP and Evercore Group Services Limited – could offer a useful breakdown.

The topline figures were very good. Evercore made £528m ($711m) in the UK in 2025, up significantly from £379m ($511m) it made in 2024. Profit went up even more dramatically, from £180m ($242m) in 2024 to £305m ($411m) in 2025.

Pay for the firm’s members – UK legal jargon for partners in a partnership – was up accordingly, from £1.3m ($1.7m) per head in 2024 to £2.0m ($2.7m) per head. That was both due to an increase in profit and a decrease in members. In a boutique investment bank, most of its “members” are dealmakers, who are senior managing directors, and other parts of the Evercore business such as its French subsidiary. The largest single payout for an Evercore member was £16m ($22m), which might have gone to a corporate member

Pay was not up for everyone, however. Regular pay for staff was £114k in 2025, flat on the £114k that Evercore paid its people in 2024. That was partly because Evercore hired a big chunk of people in London – headcount went up from 386 in 2024 to 428 in 2025, driven by an increase in both “professional staff” and “administrative staff”.

That might change in 2026 Evercore had a great 2025 globally, and 2026 is shaping up to be just as good; H1 revenue in 2026 was up 56% on 2025, although hiring slowed down substantially. That might have something to do with the bank’s partnership with OpenAI, and its contribution to developing “ChatGPT for financial services”. Hiring might slow down; revenues should not.
