Jane Street's UK pay: $1.9m per head, $55m if you're a partner

Jane Street pays a lot of money. In 2025, it paid its global team an average of $2.7m. Compensation in its London office is similarly impressive.

The electronic trading firm's UK entity, 'Jane Street UK Partnership,' filed accounts with Companies House this week. They showed that Jane Street had increased its UK headcount by over 100, growing to a total of 790 employees. At the same time, spending on 'salaries, allowances and benefits in kind' almost doubled to a total of $1.48bn. Average pay per head, therefore, was $1.88bn.

The entity also recorded profits of $1.86bn to be shared among its eight LLP members, of which two were corporate entities. The highest paid member recieved $1.54bn so, if we assume that was paid to one of the entities, the remaining partners received an average of $55.6m.

Jane Street welcomed multiple new members (partners) into its UK partnership last year. Slawomir Rzeszotko, Timothy Hennock and Maanit Desai were all appointed on January 1st 2025. FINRA's BrokerCheck tool says Hennock has worked for Jane Street since 2013 and has worked across New York, Hong Kong and London; he has been based in the UK since 2023. It also says that Desai has worked at Jane Street since 2008, and has been based in London since 2015. Both members report no prior experience via FINRA and thus appear to have once been graduate hires. Rzeszotko, who has worked in ETF business development for the firm since 2014, was an external hire. He joined from Vanguard, where he was head of the investment products specialist team.

Pre-existing members include Ian Shea, Jane Street's Europe head of fixed income trading, and John Mackenzie, Jane Street's Europe head of legal and compliance. David House, who held the title of head of trading systems in a previous Jane Street entity, is a partner too.

Jane Street has big plans for London. Bloomberg reported in April that the firm is in talks to move into a new 450,000 square foot office, almost double the size of its current location.
